Alpine Loop (Light Blue, Black Titanium, Large, Fall 2025)

The Apple Watch Alpine Loop band design was released along with the Apple Watch Ultra on September 7, 2022. The Apple Watch Ultra “brings a new bold design and a wide range of features built for endurance, exploration, and adventure.”

In the original press release, Apple described the Alpine Loop as one of its “New Bands Designed for the Great Outdoors.” Apple adds:

“With explorers in mind, the Alpine Loop band features two integrated layers made from one continuous weaving process that eliminates the need for stitching. The top loops, interspersed with high-strength yarn, provide adjustability and a secure attachment for the titanium G-hook fastener.”

Apple’s product page described the Alpine Loop:

“The rugged Alpine Loop is made from two textile layers woven together into one continuous piece without stitching. High-strength yarns reinforce the top loops, and the corrosion-resistant titanium G-hook slides easily into the loops for secure fit.”

This Alpine Loop is described as light blue, but the color more closely resembles slate blue in my opinion. With the announcement of the black Apple Watch Ultra 2 in September 2024, Apple began offering Alpine Loop bands with black titanium connector hardware to match the black titanium finish of the Black Titanium Apple Watch Ultra 2. A press release explained:

“To complement the new black finish, the popular Trail Loop, Alpine Loop, and Ocean Band have all been updated to offer a black hardware option in addition to natural titanium. Both black and natural finishes of Apple Watch Ultra 2 are made from 95 percent recycled titanium, and are carbon neutral with any Titanium Milanese Loop, Trail Loop, or Alpine Loop.”

The connectors and the “G-hook” closure are made of the same color titanium as the silver Apple Watch Ultra. Although splitting hairs, a more apt name for the hook would be a “g-hook” since it matches the shape of a lowercase—not uppercase—“g.”

All Apple Watch Ultra models fit the single-size 49mm case. The Alpine Loop is made primarily of polyester.

iPhone Crossbody Strap (Light Blue, 2025)

The iPhone Crossbody Strap was a new accessory in 2025 among a couple brand new additions released along with the iPhone 17 family of iPhones. Apple noted in the iPhone 17 Pro press release:

“The new Crossbody Strap can be paired with the TechWoven Case and Silicone Case, giving users a hands-free way to wear iPhone. Crafted from 100 percent recycled yarn, the smooth strap drapes comfortably, with embedded flexible magnets and stainless steel sliding mechanisms to easily adjust the length and keep both straps securely aligned.”

Impressively, the Crossbody Strap was available in 10 colors(!), including black, light gray, blue, light blue, purple, sienna, green, neon yellow, tan, and orange. This example is light blue.

Apple’s product page offered more details and reported it was “Beautifully crafted from 100 percent recycled PET yarns, the smooth, narrow woven straps drape comfortably across the body.” Further, “Embedded flexible magnets with stainless steel sliding mechanisms allow you to effortlessly adjust the length for the perfect fit, while keeping both straps securely and neatly aligned.”

While some reviewers initially viewed the Crossbody Strap with “bemusement,” others, such as Jess Weatherbed at Verge noted:

“Pockets have been a longstanding issue with women’s clothing in particular—fashion designers started shrinking or removing them entirely in the late 1940s because they interfered with the form-fitting silhouettes popularized by Christian Dior’s ‘New Look.’ Bags and purses became the de facto replacement, but phones have since evolved to replace most of the stuff we carry. You can use an iPhone to make payments, check your makeup, read a book, and even unlock doors. You don’t need to carry a bag, but most still need to carry that phone.”

At its release, the iPhone Crossbody Strap was compatible with seven different iPhone cases:

  • iPhone Air Bumper
  • iPhone Air Case with MagSafe
  • Silicone Case with MagSafe (iPhone 17)
  • TechWoven Case with MagSafe (iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max)
  • Silicone Case with MagSafe (iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max)

Apple lists that the maximum strap length is 81.9 inches (2080 mm), and may be shortened to a minimum strap length of 42.5 inches (1080 mm).

iPod nano (Generation 3, light blue, 8GB, 2007)

The iPod nano Generation 3 used a design unique to the iPod family with “squat” proportions in a thin case. It was available in 4 GB or 8 GB versions, with the 4 GB model offered only in silver, and the 8 GB models offered in silver, light blue, light green, black, and (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition. A pink option was added later. All models had a chrome stainless steel back.

Compared to the iPod nano Generation 2, the Generation 3 added a larger 2-inch (diagonal) color LCD display at 320×240 resolution, support for video on the internal display, and video-out via the dock.

In a press release, Apple noted:

“The new iPod nano features a larger two-inch display with 204 pixels per inch, which lets users watch their favorite movies, TV shows and music videos in the same resolution they currently enjoy on the video iPod… iPod nano delivers up to 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge, and is encased in a beautiful new all-metal design made with anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel…”

The iPod nano software was greatly improved from previous versions with enhancements including a Cover Flow option for selecting albums. Three games were pre-loaded: iQuiz, an entertainment trivia game; Vortex, a fast-paced 360 degree brick-bashing game; and Klondike, a popular solitaire card game.

Apple Watch Woven Nylon Band (42 mm, Blue Stripe, Stainless Steel Buckle, 2019)

The Apple Watch Woven Nylon Band was available from 2016–2019. This band design was the first to include plastic connecting “lugs” to attach to the watch.

This Blue Stripe Apple Watch Woven Nylon Band was available beginning in late 2018 and was among the last Woven Nylon bands available. This example fits the 42 mm Apple Watch and had a Stainless Steel Buckle. The design features bright stripes on a white background including royal blue, light blue, bright green, and light green.

According to Apple:

“Every Woven Nylon band is made from over 500 threads woven together in a unique, colorful pattern. Monofilaments connect four layers of the weave to create a single durable band with a comfortable, fabric-like feel. Available in seven vibrant colors”

Unlike the Apple Sport Loop bands that shipped with two sizes in one box, each Woven Nylon box included one size band with twelve notches. The 38 mm version was designed to fit wrists 125–195 mm, and the 42 mm fit 145–215 mm wrists.

No new Apple Watch Woven Nylon band styles were introduced after Summer 2018.

Apple Watch Solo Loop (44 mm, Size 12, Northern Blue, 2020)

The Solo Loop Apple Watch band was released in 2020 along with the Apple Watch Series 6. The packaging describes this product as a “Silicone Fitted Band.” According to Apple’s website:

“Made from liquid silicone rubber, the Solo Loop features a unique, stretchable design with no clasps, buckles, or overlapping parts that’s ultracomfortable to wear and easy to slip on and off your wrist. Each band is specially treated with UV to give the band a silky, smooth finish. It’s also swim proof and sweat proof so it can go just about anywhere you want to wear it.”

Apple calls this band’s color “Northern Blue,” a shade of light blue. It was available in 40 mm and 44 mm widths, and was among the first Apple Watch bands to be sold in specific wrist sizes. The 40 mm Solo Loop was sold in wrist sizes 1–9 and the 44 mm Solo Loop was sold in wrist sizes 4–12.

In this example, the Northern Blue Solo Loop is paired with an Apple Watch Series 7 with a silver stainless steel finish.

According to Apple’s website, “This band comes in custom sizes because it’s designed for an ultracomfortable fit. An accurate measurement will help you get the size that’s right for you.” The website allowed buyers to download a PDF and cut out a “tool” that wrapped around the wrist to designate the band size needed.

This snug-fitting design allowed Apple Watch sensors to retain constant and consistent skin contact, allowing accurate blood oxygen and heart rate measurements to be maintained.

iPod shuffle (Generation 2, light blue, Late 2007)

This Generation 2 iPod shuffle released in Late 2007 was identical to the previous Early 2007 Generation 2 iPod shuffle, except they were available in silver and four new colors: light blue, light green, purple, and Special Edition (PRODUCT) RED. This example is light blue.

The Generation 2 iPod shuffle (Late 2007) model also added a new 2 GB model.

This iPod shuffle measured 1.07 inches tall, 0.98 inches wide, and 0.33 inches deep and included a built-in clip for easily attaching the iPod to clothing. All iPod shuffle models lack a display. This model incuded 1 GB of flash memory to hold approximately 240 songs.

A small USB dock shipped with this iPod shuffle that used the headphone jack to connect to power and synchronize music. Its battery lasted for about 12 hours.
